Famous Last Words

Our Trip Around The Sun  Robert, our waiter took this photo Noble and I I've known this man for four years now. He's seen so much of the chaos that is my life and somehow he still wanted to date me anyways. So, this weeks famous last words are a reflection of my gratitude for the one I love. He is pretty dang awesome.  Have we really been hanging out together and dating for an entire year already? These last twelve months with you have flown by in such a blur and I've hardly had a moment to catch my breath. You've flipped my entire world upside down. (Or is it finally right side up?) Everything I thought I knew of love and affection and authenticity pales in the wake of the light you have brought to my life. It sure feels good to be able to smile from my heart. After all is said and done, with all of these magical moments in between, you are still here. You still got me. If everything I've been through is what brought me to you then I wouldn't change

Week 13 Story: The Great Awakening

Image
The Great Awakening The war has ripped my soul apart... Of every suffering, every loss, and every single moment- this one could kill me. I wish my grief had taken my life. Each of my beloved sons has perished.  I have no will and no meaning without my children. Yet, I am doomed to remain in this world without me. Oh gods! Why have you forsaken me? How can I go on without their love and light and laughter? My heart has shattered into a thousand irreparable fractures. My grief can never end until I am with them again. Great god, Vyassa, please help me.  Vyassa Summons Ghosts http://ouocblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/pde- mahabharata-forest-and-its-ghosts.html Draupadi and the Pandavas are in the forest by the Ganges with all others who are in a state of ceaseless mourning. Tears filling the river, the cost and carnage of war are never, ever worth their weight. To try and ease the suffering of my people, I will raise the spirits of their loved ones lost. For one evening a

Wha-HA-Haaaa So, with ten thousand adventures and tasks on my to-do list, I thought I'd debrief on a bit of my day.  I have been without a working garbage disposal for a couple months now. It has been excruciating lately. It was a bit after midnight, after several other tasks complete, when I went to go do the dishes... Side note: I get asked often how I do this, "How do you do school and raise two kids..." etc. The answer is that I do these tasks while my children are sleeping. End of story.  Maybe when I graduate I will have more time to sleep.  I am nearly gagging. Something smells so  awful in my sink and I cannot do anything but wade through the dishes until the sinks are empty and the dishwasher full. The smell is still there and I am furious.  UGHHH It's that damned garbage disposal. With the broken machinery not working, it's basically become this pool for bacteria, mold, gunk. That is just so, so gross.  Garbage Disposal We

Week 12: Extra Reading

Image
Following the Round-About: Arjuna is central to the Indian Epic, Mahabharata. He is known as a Pandava brother and the victor of Draupadi, winning her in the contest of her Swayamvara.  The readings of me evenings landed me into the pool of Arjuna's charioteers and I found that to be epically interesting.  Arjuna https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arjuna One of his charioteers was Krishna, the god, who could not directly intervene in the war. Krishna, having favored the Pandavas and wished to have his way, knew that helping them the most meant that he could influence Dharma via steering the chariot of Arjuna.  The charioteers for these warriors of the epics were crucial to the success or failure of the battle. e saw in the Mahabharata that something as simple as a wheel getting stuck in the mud could mean victory or death for a rival.  Bibliography: Traveling through Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arjuna

Indian Legends: Nala & Damayanti Krishna Dharma http://iereadingguides.blogspot.com/2017/11/overview-krishna -dharma-two-vedic-tales.html Nala is a king and hears of the beautiful Damayanti. She is of the most beautiful creation and no other has her equal in beauty. He loves her and feels that in his heart, the two are ordained to be wed.  He captures a swan and the swan asks what her desires: Only her, Damayanti.  The bird flies back with the flock and, collectively, they go to the maiden and the swan then tells her all of Nala. She falls in love with him without ever seeing him.  The gods of creation hear of her also. They decide that one of them must marry her. Seeing Nala on his way, they force him who loves Damayanti also, to tell the royal maiden that she must marry one of the eternal beings.  When she sees Nala, she grows even MORE in love with him; he has stolen her heart and will choose no one other than Nala.  She tells him that she will make he

Mahabharata: I was never able to get around to reading Part D of the Mahabharata of our readings in the weeks of 6 and 7. I am happy that these last few weeks of readings are free and that we are able to have time to read some of the things that we may have missed.  "   So died the gallant youth, pure as he was at birth. He died like to a forest lion surrounded by hunters; he sank like to the red sun at evening; he perished like to a tempest whose strength is spent; he was spent out even like a fire which has consumed a forest and is extinguished on the plain; Abhimanyu was lost as is the serene white moon when shrouded in black eclipse." Death of Abhimanyu (Arjuna's son) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abhimanyu Side Note: I couldn't find where this Dushasana was and am hoping that he might be thee same Kichaka that humiliated Draupadi, the stories seem exactly the same: " Dussasana was very exhausted and he nearly fainted. The assembled men were

New York City Tim Burton's Restaurant in NYC- Picture taken by myself Hard work, work-Literary analysis for my ENGL Capstone course picture taken by me  Okay, so I did a thing that I do not advise any of you do. I skipped half a week of school to go to New York City with one of my girlfriends. Eeeek! (Her name is also, Sara- no "h") Together, we make Sara(h)^2. It's funny and you can laugh. I have dreamt of going to New York City since I was very little. Until last week, I had never gone! When I heard there was a Tim Burton restaurant called, Beetle House opening up in NYC, that just reignited that dream and I have longed to go ever since. Its been years, always planning, never quite being able to make it out. This year, I DID! I made reservations for the place LAST YEAR to be able to go to this restaurant on Halloween day. We literally planned and took this trip JUST for the Tim Burton restaurant. It was the very most incredible experience EVER. Wow,
