Technology

Image
Picture taken by Me- My Technology (: Wowzers! Is this girl overwhelmed with all of the available uses of technology? Certainly. There is so much content, samples, instructions, options available that I do not even know where to  begin. This makes me wonder more on just how much my mind might be "fixed" in some aspects and "open" in others. I feel like I am set in my ways already, which is  quite  a silly  notion!  This world we live in is one of the adaptive, ever-changing variety. I best buckle up now and start preparing  myself to inevitably learn some fancy technology.

Assignments

Image
Picture taken by Me (Oh, look, a distraction!) Alright, alright! I am gonna get this assignment done! I got a message from one of my friends saying that pumpkin spice is back at Dunkin' and though you might want to know, too. (You're welcome!)  Now, about this class... I am  so  pumped. It is pretty wild how life never really sort of turns out the way that you anticipate  it to, which I find so refreshing. I am also doing an elected book  study and C.S. Lewis calls this sort of thing God, which is pretty fascinating in its own sort of way. I am excited about this class because I  am interested in Indian Epics, I love to read, the course was recommended  by a great, wise friend of mine, and the extra credit opportunities sound fantastic. I enjoy how direct and comprehensible this course is; how the professor lists the point scale and that's just that- there's no discrepancy for the structure; you do the work and get the points or you don't.  There isn&#

Growth Mindset

Fixed vs. Growth Mindset (and yet...) https://medium.com/leadership-motivation-and-impact/fixed-v-growth-mindset-902e7d0081b3 Touching a few topics on "Growth Mindset" a concept from Carol Dwek, I will share a bit of what I have learned from the  small videos that I was able to watch this weekend. First, I had heard of the idea and was even taught a little bit about it in a parenting class that I had taken a few years back at my eldest daughter's childcare facility. I was intrigued by the idea then and am renewed in my curiosity with it now. Though, I would like to mention that I hadn't heard her name previously... In particular,  I found "The Power of Yet" to be fascinating. It does seem to place a more positive label to aspects which would regularly provide a more negative connotation. I have failed many classes at OU for one reason or another, as well as my lower division courses that I had taken at OCCC. Not passing those classes always felt

Introduction to a BlueBird

Image
Howdy Reader BlueBird herself, picture taken by yours truly.  My name is Sarah D. Bartodej but truly, that name is reserved for debt collectors and the IRS. My preferred name is, Blue - a shortened form of BlueBird . The name  also helps me discern the friendly from the more professional communications that I may have because I also have short-term memory loss! (Not so  pronounced as the infamous, Dory...)  I got the nickname when I was young, my head has always been in the clouds and I've always wished that I could fly, frequently dreaming of doing just that. My major is English Literature and I am a senior here at  OU, graduating this Spring in May.  (Woo-hoo!)  Felicity Lou (6) and Emery Kristine (1.98)- Picture take by me I have two little girls, ages 6 and on the 26th my youngest will be two years old. I am a single mother,  within the year (March) divorced. The last year or so has been quite an adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I rec

Storybook Favorite's

Image
Jake's Story- King Arthur In India https://sites.google.com/view/king-arthur-in-india      I enjoyed and do enjoy the immersive features of these blogged Storybooks. This one, I found a little confusing with the hyperlinks and page duplicates but was able to  understand quickly enough, though it does seem a bit unnecessary. The images  are  fun to look at and help to keep the audience  interested and engaged in the objective story alliteration, which easily becomes cumbersome in instances where these features would be missing. There are also some word wraps for the images that I found intriguing and fun. The Dreams of the Ancients- unknown https://sites.google.com/site/thedreamsoftheancients/      The differences  in storybooks  are  so fun! I was not aware of how diversified the assignment could be! The images in this book  are particularly aesthetic and invite the reader to look farther. I enjoyed the layout and functionality of this book more than the previous review.

Within the Eyes My Favorite Place

Image
My favorite place,  within the eyes of my two children. They see the me that is not bound by prejudice, judgments, or claims and shoulds. They love me authentically and I can love them authentically back.  This is my favorite place in the entire world because this is the place that feels like home,  always and forever more.  The days are short, and the evenings come to a close quickly also- because them seeing me is like Christmas morning every day.I never get tired or weary of the affection and genuine surprise of that beloved, "Momma!" It won't matter where I am, with them I am home and with them my favorite place is always near.  *These photos were taken by me of my two children during our church's.
